PARKS
Bradford has two parks and both of them are conveniently located in the business district of the Village. Both Parks are maintained by the Village with some financial assistance from the Darke County Park District and other donations and grants for designated improvements. Both Parks are available for special events such as family reunions, etc. Please contact the Village Administrator at 448-2718 for additional information and requirements for special events or [CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO].
IDDINGS PARK
The smaller of the two parks is Iddings Park. The park is located on East Main Street and is primarily a rest and reflect park. It does have several picnic tables and benches along with a unique sun dial. Also, in the middle of the park is a Historic Plaque inscribed with a brief history of this park
“Y” YARD PARK
This Park is located on South Miami Avenue, just across the street from Village Hall. The uniqueness of this Park is its name. Years ago the Railroad maintained a YMCA building that was used to house railroad employees between division points of the railroad. A place for them to get a hot bath, a hot meal and a good nights rest before “rinding the rail” the next morning.
The park has a regulation basketball court and of course a shelter house with picnic tables and a charcoal cooking grill. The Village was fortunate to receive a large grant to purchase a multi-purpose, state of the art, playground equipment for use by the younger citizens of the Village. In the center of the park towards the Miami Avenue is a Historic Plaque briefly detailing the historic significance of the park land.
Every year this park is used to host family reunions, cook outs and other community family oriented events.
